- 20 cm of wet snow covering 1 m² weighs approximately 80 kg.
- 1 m³ of powder snow weighs approx. 220 kg, wet snow approx. 400–700 kg, and ice approx. 950 kg.
What do the regulations say about roof snow removal?
A building should undergo inspection in the event of, among other things, heavy snowfall, if it may pose a threat to human life or health, property safety, or the environment. The obligation to carry out such inspections rests with property owners and managers.
If an inspector determines that a building structure may endanger human life or health, property safety, or the environment, or that it is in an improper technical condition, they will order the identified irregularities to be remedied within a specified timeframe. They may also prohibit the use of the building or part of it until the deficiencies are corrected.
